A dark mass where no light

Nothing but the murmur of leaves
Limbs and roots interlace
Ravenous tentacles
Devouring whoever dares to enter
Thirsty for blood and bones
They capture lost souls
Bury them in the depths of the woods
Dead trees’ stalk are engraved
With ancient symbols
Reminiscences of cruel forgotten
Gods
A dark mass where no light
No life exists and endures
Threatening wooden sculptures
Surrounded by a sinister halo
Are scattered around.
Endless silent expanse
From which no one returns
Through this mystical lifeless vastness
Slowly and without fear, the pilgrim is walking
Whispering ritual psalms
Calling on
Eternal deities of the nightfall
Eyeless creature with runes
Nefarious voices lead him
At the end of the path
Awaits a dark inner sanctuary
Shrine of nightmares and tears
Black altar arises
Made of skulls, earth and prayers
Hideous aura emanates from him
Invading everything around
Putrid scent pervades
Everything
Noctem aeternam
